For those of you near to completion of the SomaSource training path, we have outlined two options for completion below. Please review the slide deck below for an overview:

SomaSource Completion Now Includes:

• In-Person Graduation July 2022 (Includes Life Cycles)
• 5 Core Completion Assignments (Choosing one of 3 deadlines)

Two Options:

• Option 1: Complete the 5 Core Completion Assignments and become credentialed as a SomaSource practitioner
  • Option 1 allows a faster credential, as soon as Aug 2021
• Option 2: If you are not yet prepared to complete the 5 Core Assignments, you can take Melissa’s online Thresholds class in Fall 2021 and get further instruction/teachings of the SomaSource curriculum and support to complete the assignments by either December 2021 or March 2022.
• • Option 2 offers additional instruction via the online course, more support, and a longer timeline for completion.

*Both paths also require In-Person Graduation with Cohort 1.5 and Completion ~ Expected July 2022

OPTION 1: 5 Core Completion Assignments

We want to offer options for you to share with us your progress as you integrate this moving path. We have designed a process for an at-distance completion that will allow you to carry the SomaSource title and be supported by the platform, opportunities, and networking access that comes with the certification. This can happen before we are actually able to enact our formal closing in person, now scheduled for the July of 2022. That closing will involve a deeper study into a seminal part of this work, the Life Cycle curriculum.

We have, thus, designed 5 Core Completion Assignments that are outlined below. There are a series of questions to thoroughly and thoughtfully answer. Your materials will be reviewed by a team of 7: Melissa, Sarita, Abigail, Ramon, Hannah, Meagan, and Dorcus. You will either receive some feedback and requests for further study, articulation, and/or practice, or you will be given the green light of completion. This will not eliminate the work that we still will do on the dance floor together. We hope that will finally happen in July of 2022.

OPTION 2: Thresholds Online Class + Completion Assignments

If you are not ready to take on the completion steps below, regardless of how long you have been moving within our community, you can participate in Melissa’s upcoming online course. This course is planned for release in September 2021. It is a beautiful culmination of much of Melissa’s life work. Moving Through Life’s Thresholds: Pathways for Embodied Learning and Leading. The online, self-paced experiential journey will culminate in December of 2021. There will be community online groups available along the way.

If you are called, this will be a powerfully supported path towards completion. It will be a rigorous journey through each of the cycles of the work found on the SomaSource path. The course is rich with video content and methodical assignments. Never before has all of this information been compiled into one place, it is a step-by-step breakdown of the work we have been doing for decades.

For those of you who have joined us in the past two years and/or are still unfamiliar with the 7 Cycles, Option 2 is the ideal step for you. Please also plan to attend Surfing The Creative 2022 if you have not attended two camps already.

The Option 2 path will still require the completion of the 5 Core Completion Assignments and in-person Summer 2022 for SomaSource Leader certification. The online course will provide abundant support for a powerful and grounded completion.

With option 2, you will have the opportunity to complete your credential in either December 2021 or March 2022, depending on your pacing. If you are interested in remaining on the SomaSource path but are not ready to engage in the 5 Core Completion Process on your own, this may be the best path for you.

Please consider attending seasonal events, the online course, and/or the Life Cycle at distance community study next January. This will complement the July 2022 gathering. It will be especially useful for those of you who have not done a lot of personal biography work.

• July 15th, 2021 prior to our Online Gathering July 17th & 18th, 2021 (Option 1)
• December 20th, 2021: Solstice (Option 1 and 2)
• March 20th, 2022: Equinox (Option 1 and 2)
